Born in Takayama, Ikoma, Nara, raised in the workshop of his grandfather.
Certified as a Traditional Craftsman in 2018.

Every bamboo is different.
That is what makes it interesting.

Born in Takayama, in the hills of Ikoma, Nara, and raised watching the handwork of his grandfather. After high school, he trained under his grandfather.

In 2018 he was certified as a Traditional Craftsman, and has demonstrated the craft in various places and been introduced through media, including the Discovery Channel program "Ashita e no Tobira" ("Doorway to Tomorrow").

Master of Traditional Crafts

In 2018, certified as a Master of Traditional Crafts (Dentō Kōgeishi) for Takayama Chasen — a craft designated by Japan's Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry. Artisan name: Komakichi.
